Postgraduate Award Ceremony

Musicians at the Royal Albert Hall in preparation for the Postgraduate Awards ceremony on Wednesday 7 May 1997. Four honorary degrees were awarded at the ceremony to Professor R.M. Bonnet, Sir Raymond Hoffenberg, Professor E.D. Hondros and the Lord Weinstock of Bowden. "There is no such thing as a free degree," joked Sir Raymond when describing his mild panic at having to write an acceptance address at the last minute. All four honorary graduates were awarded doctorates in recognition of their contribution to science.
