Summer ballThe first Imperial College Summer Ball, open to all College staff, students and alumni,
will take place on Friday 19 June at Alexandra Palace. Tickets cost £45 for students and
£50 for staff and alumni and include transport to and from the event, a three-course
dinner, drinks and entertainments. Tickets will be available soon from the IC Union
office, Beit Quad. Exam stress workshopsWednesday 18 March and Wednesday 25 March Everyone suffers from stress before and during examinations. For most people stress improves their performance, but if you have a significant or debilitating examination stress problem these free workshops are for you. Day Nursery appealThe Imperial College Day Nursery is collecting Tesco school computer vouchers and would be grateful for any voucher contributions. Professor Andrew RutherfordA service of thanksgiving for the life and work of Professor Andrew Rutherford will be held on Monday 11 May at 14.30 in the Church of Christ the King, Gordon Square, WC1. ProfessorshipsThe Leverhulme Trustees have again decided to fund a small number of Leverhulme
personal research professorships in the humanities and social sciences. Each chair will
normally be held for five years starting 1 October 1999. Applicants must be either
academics of UK nationality or must have been regularly employed in the UK for at least
seven years. The closing date for applications is Friday 22 May 1998. Further details may

Brompton Hospital (16 August - 4 September 1998) and is looking for a house exchange in
