Academic staff promotions

With the agreement of heads of departments, divisions and other senior staff, the start of the academic promotions exercise was delayed pending discussion at the rector's residential weekend in December 1998.

In spite of the delayed start, the timetable for the exercise has been scheduled so that any consequent promotions can take effect on the normal date of 1 October 1999. Individual members of staff will be advised by their head of department or division of the timetable for the initial stages of the exercise. At College level, interviews for candidates will take place between 19 April and late June 1999. The final meeting of the academic promotions committee will be in early September 1999.

Personnel note 1999/1 on the Academic Promotions Exercise 1999 was issued on 11 January 1999.
