Catering service changes in Sherfield Building

The Senior Common Room (SCR) in the Sherfield Building, South Ken campus, closes for extensive refurbishment Monday 17 January.

The Ante Room and part of the Main Dining Hall (MDH) on Level 1 will provide alternative facilities. The entrance for SCR members will be via the doors to the Ante Room on Level 1. The entrance to the MDH for other users will be via the doors at the bottom of the central staircase - accessible from the Queen's Lawn Terrace or the staircase itself.

A full lunch service will be provided but there will be reduced seating capacity and some alterations to the counter layout. Lunchtime opening hours will be increased by 30 minutes with a full service provided between 11.45am and 2.15pm.

Café Express will also relocate on Monday 17 January from the Level 2 main concourse to the JCR. All other catering facilities will operate normally. Works are expected to be completed by July.

Alternative lunch venues include:

*170 Queen's Gate - reservations essential, please call Vanessa on ext 49255

* SAF Café, Sir Alexander Fleming Building - open all day, serving fresh soup and hot paninis

* Curry Bar in the JCR - open from 11.45am until 2pm

* QT in the JCR - open all day

*Basics Pizzeria, Southside - open from 11.45am until 10pm, serving pizzas, filled jacket potatoes and daily specials, seven days a week.
