Research

Christoph is a research postgraduate under the supervision of Dr Christos Markides and Professor Klaus Hellgardt. He commenced his PhD in December 2014. Prior to his PhD he was a Research Assistant in the Clean Energy Processes (CEP) Laboratory at the Department of Chemical Engineering, Imperial College London. He joined the CEP Laboratory in January 2014 after graduating from RWTH Aachen University, Germany, where he did both, his undergraduate and his master's course. After receiving the Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Christoph enrolled in the Power Engineering master's course which he has successfully finished in October 2013.

Christoph’s PhD research topic is low temperature heat conversion technologies. His research focuses on the modelling of thermofluidic oscillators which are an innovative concept to convert heat into useful work. Furthermore, he is working on the developing of models for organic Rankine cycles (ORC). His work concentrates on the use of solar heat and waste heat recovery.
