The Sinfonietta orchestra at a recent event in a grand venue.

Calling all Sinfonietta alumni!

You are warmly invited to the Imperial College Sinfonietta Reunion Concert on Sunday 9 June, with Daniel Capps and Bill Carslake.

Join us for this celebratory event bringing together past and present members of Sinfonietta. Enjoy an afternoon of food and drink, followed by an evening concert and ceilidh in celebration of our lifelong community of music.

To mark the occasion, the orchestra will be premiering ‘Carrownagappul’, written by current Music Director Bill Carslake, and conducted by Daniel Capps, founder of the orchestra in 1996. This piece was commissioned by the Harry Woolhouse Charitable Trust to mark the 25th anniversary of Sinfonietta, and was composed in response to an immersive week that Bill spent living on a bog in Ireland called Carrownagappul.

If you would like to play, there are parts for alumni in Carrownagappul and Sibelius’ Karelia Suite, and the orchestra would be delighted to hear from you. Whether you would like to return and play, or just listen and reminisce, your presence would be greatly valued.
