Summary

A PhD student under the supervision of Dr Mughal in the Department of Mathematics, I am studying aspects of Hydrodynamic Stability Theory with a focus on Laminar-Turbulent transition.

My research concerns developing improved models for how boundary layer instabilities in a laminar flow are generated and then convected over aircraft wings. A research direction currently being explored is into advancing  Parabaolised Stability Equation (PSE) models for the analysis of fully three-dimensional compressible flows that arise on complex aircraft wing surfaces.

I began studying under Dr Mughal in August 2021 after graduating in 2018 from Cardiff University. My Master's project was focused on the spectral theory of the Schrödinger Operator, under the supervision of Prof. Schmidt. I am a fully qualified secondary school teacher: from 2018 to 2021, I taught in a London secondary school with a focus on teaching A-Levels Mathematics and Further Mathematics and university entry exams.

My funding is from the Defence, Science and Technology Laboratory.
