Images are used for various reasons online such as:

  • to help tell the story e.g. a photograph
  • provide information e.g. an infographic
  • to act as a visual clue (signpost) to the content e.g. an icon
  • to make a page more visually appealing

Images can play an important role in enhancing your content, so it is important to use high-quality images that are relevant to the subject(s) covered in your content.

The T4 CMS uses a Media Library to store images in the same way as documents, which means that you can reuse an image without having to reupload it. You can also benefit from searching and using images that others have uploaded.

These pages will cover everything you need to know about finding, uploading and using images in T4.

Important: when uploading image files to the T4 Media Library, please ensure image files are less than 2MB. This will help improve the overall performance of the Imperial website.
